Kiran D Sekhar is an eminent gynecologist and obstetrician and presently Managing Director of Sai Kiran Hospital & Kiran Infertility Center Hyderabad. Dr Sekhar completed her graduation and post graduation at the prestigious Osmania General Hospital Hyderabad, and has the unique and rare distinction of standing first in her M.B.B.S and her M.D. post graduate examinations. She was awarded 11 gold medals by then minister the honorable late Mr. Channa Reddy in the year 1972.
She took up government service and worked as an associate professor in obstetrics and gynecology at the government maternity hospital Hyderabad for 12 years. She then worked as head of the department at King Fahad hospital in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the middle east for 4 years. Dr Kiran D Sekhar is recognized all over India, the Middle East and several European countries for her pioneering work in the field of infertility and IVF technology.
She has established a state of the art IVF clinic at Hyderabad and for the last 15 years her clinic has catered comprehensively to the needs of infertile couples. The Kiran Infertility Center combines the latest in infertility treatments under one roof and under her leadership and guidance the clinic has helped more than 20,000 couples achieve a pregnancy. Her clinic was the first to introduce the use of color doppler in the field of infertility in south India. Aside from founding the Kiran Infertility Center she is also an expert in the field of endoscopic surgery and as performed more than 10,000 laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries. She has diagnosed and treated patients from all over the world, has several academic interests, and has trained more than 200 gynecologists and several embryologists in the field of ultrasound, in vitro fertilization etc,
Dr Kiran has the distinction of being Vice President of F.O.G.S.I. (Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecological Society of India) an umbrella organization for more than 20,000 doctors across India. She is member of more than 50 societies across India and several others all over the world; she has traveled all over the country spreading the message of population stabilization and child care.
Dr Kiran has given and organized several lectures as faculty at several national and international conferences. She is also author of several books on IVF and infertility. She and the clinic have been honored by none other than the prime minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singhji, and several dignitaries and eminent personalities for her outstanding work in the field of infertility. . She is also a regular contributor to local and national newspapers where she gives her expert advice to patients.
Dr Kiran is also member of European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. |
